I have a wide range of interests and this is reflected in the subject matter of the books I have written. My most recent book is Just Imagine: The story of Mike Msizi, the Tsitsikamma Mfengu and the Tsitsikamma Community Wind Farm. The book was the winner of the 2016 John Kannemeyer Award for Biography, awarded by the SA Independent Publishers’ Association.

I am well placed to write biographies and company histories.

Cricket was a particular interest at the start of my freelance writing career and the history of Langa Cricket Club was my first published work. Several general history books followed: on the Cape Town suburb of Observatory, Grey High School and Juta & Company, South Africa’s oldest publishing house. The manuscript of the second volume in Juta’s history was accepted but it has not yet been published. A detailed history of the company’s Johannesburg operations forms part of the narrative.

I have found writing educational books most rewarding.

More recently, my focus has been on business and investment in South Africa and in other parts of Africa.
